The Time-Travelling Estate Agent Series

My Amazon Best-Selling Time-Travel Title – The Time-Travelling Estate Agent series, now consists of two books, with a third on the way… Set in 1976, these books transport the reader back in time, on a series of adventures to uncover unsolved mysteries.

I never expected a slightly crumpled suit, a garage in Cwmbran, and a broken-hearted teenager from 1976 to change my life – but that’s exactly what happened when I started writing The Time-Travelling Estate Agent series.

At the centre of the story is Eric Meek, a 60-year-old estate agent who looks at his life and can’t quite believe how it turned out. He’s tired, he’s frustrated, and he’s haunted by one day in particular: 3 July 1976, the best and worst day of his youth. When Eric stumbles across a time portal hidden in a client’s garage, what begins as a selfish attempt to fix his own regrets quickly turns into something much bigger. Along the way, there are mysteries to solve, people to help, romances that really shouldn’t work – and a lot of unintended consequences.

The first book, released in November 2024, struck a nerve I honestly didn’t expect. It’s stayed in Amazon’s Top 30 Time Travel Books ever since, and seeing readers connect so strongly with Eric – his humour, his flaws, his very human longing for a second chance – has been hugely rewarding. The sequel, which has just been released, is already climbing the same chart, with every reviewer so far giving it four or five stars. That kind of response still feels surreal.

Cwmbran, where I was born and raised, is more than just a backdrop. It’s woven into the DNA of the series. In the second book, Eric doesn’t just pop back to the long hot summer of ’76, he stays. He finds work, builds new relationships, and gets pulled into the mystery surrounding the death of a local band called The Faith. While the story digs deeper emotionally, it keeps the humour and warmth that readers enjoyed the first time around. Tonally, it’s often compared to Goodnight Sweetheart, Groundhog Day, and 50 First Dates, which I’ll happily take as compliments.

Both books in the series are available as ebooks (£1.99), paperbacks (£9.99) and hardbacks (£14.99), and they’re also free to read on Kindle Unlimited. If nothing else, I hope Eric Meek proves that it’s never too late – even at 60, even in a battered old suit – to try again.

Time takes everything – but what if it could also give back?

It’s December 2019 in a small Welsh town, and 60-year-old estate agent Eric Meek discovers a property which boasts a truly unique garage conversion. Instead of the more customary home office or gym, it contains a hole in space-time that has been developed into a traversable portal.

The portal allows movement between 2019 and the day it was first powered up, 3rd July 1976, which just happened to be the best – and worst – day of 16-year-old Eric’s life.

Presented with a chance to right the wrongs of the past, Eric revisits the moment he believes defined his future. His adventures in time also find him caught up in a decades-old missing persons case while he attempts to improve the lives of those close to him, including his long-dead father.

The Time-Travelling Estate Agent is the story of a first love, a second chance, and a third age redemption.

Will Eric change history? Or will history change Eric?

I came across this book via a news article online. Feeling homesick and knowing this book was based in Cwmbran, I decided to get on Amazon and read a sample. I liked it very much and so I bought the book (and the second in the series). I’ve just finished this one and I love it. The subject matter, the characters, the story itself, all well-written and presented with humour. You don’t need to be familiar with Cwmbran to enjoy reading this book as the story is so entertaining. It kept me engaged throughout and I found myself eager to return home so I could get the kettle on and settle in for more reading. Now, time to find out what happened to ‘the band’ in The Time-Travelling Estate Agent 2.

Amusing and interesting piece of genre fiction, this silky piece of prose feels like a rich, indulgent Sunday evening in the 70s, black forest gateau. Following in the footsteps of Adrian Cousins and Keith Pearson, this treads similar ground, but stands very much on its own. An interesting storyline, a neat hook on the whole time travel device, but which felt fresh and unique, a few twists along the way, all added to the nonsense and fun. Really hope to read more from the author.

This book had me captivated from start to finish. Very much in the vein of Keith A Pearson, Adam Eccles and Adrian Cousins, and completely up there with them in terms of quality of storytelling, character development, plots twists and laughs. I genuinely enjoyed this book. Please tell me there is a sequel coming!

Eric’s back! In time!

But will he be back in time to discover who or what killed The Faith?

Book two continues where book one left off, with estate agent Eric Meek once again donning his shiny suit and travelling back to the long hot summer of ’76.

Eric is not just popping back for a brief visit though: his mission requires him to live in the past for an extended period. This means he’ll need to get a job and find somewhere to live. In doing so he meets some memorable new characters – and is reacquainted with some he’s already only too familiar with.

Will Eric find what he’s looking for? Or will he find something else entirely?

Another fun read and lots of my favourite character Carol! More memories of the long hot summer of 1976, which seemed to last forever as a small child! I read a huge amount of crime fiction, so I really enjoyed the setting being somewhere I know well for a change. Fun characters and the plot kept me guessing until almost the end!

A very enjoyable read, full of humour and plot twists. Part 2 is equally as good as part 1 – the characters now feel like old friends and I’m looking forward to the 3rd instalment. Having been born in 1976 these books have provided a little glimpse into the past for me and brought back memories of early childhood in the 70s, and I like the contrast between the two decades the story is set in.

I really enjoyed the first book, but this was impossible to put down from the first page. Brilliant story and characters.

I’m also deep into writing the third book in the Time-Travelling Estate Agent trilogy, and it’s due out later this year. It feels especially fitting, as its release will coincide with the 50-year anniversary of 1976 – the year that changed Eric Meek’s life forever and the moment everything in the series revolves around.

If you’d like to be the first to know when it lands, please follow me on Amazon and on social media, where I’ll be sharing updates, behind-the-scenes snippets, and the official release news as we get closer to publication.
